Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) announces the Pantaenius Australia Pittwater Regatta and the NSW ORC Championship, taking place from 13 to 15 February 2026, supported by Sydney Marine Brokerage.
Early entries feature Division 2 champion David Davies with his BH36, Local Hero, and Ray Hudson’s XP44, XS Moment, among others, participating in race formats that include an offshore passage race followed by inshore and windward/leeward races at Palm Beach Circle.
The Pittwater Cup also sees entrants like Paul O’Rourke with his IOR Farr 40, Aurora, and John Afaras’ Beneteau Oceanis 35.1, Eirini, set to compete. O’Rourke highlights the exciting interclub competition format within the Performance 40 division.
Competition divides focus between performance and accessibility, particularly for approximately 40-foot racer/cruisers with symmetrical kites. The racing employs ORCc scoring to create equitable conditions for competitors.
The Super 40 division returns with notable crews like defending champion Ross Hennessy aboard Condor and Michael Ritchie on Revolver, fostering competitive racing evidenced by last year’s tight finishes of several boats.
A diverse format of racing, including the classic 5 Heads Challenge, promises thrilling summer competition in Pittwater’s scenic waters, enhanced by camaraderie and on-shore entertainment such as spinnaker competitions and barbecues.
The regatta, a staple since 1907, adapts over time while maintaining its popularity. Participants must submit entries by 1700 hours on 2 February, with late entries accepted for an additional fee.
