The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron (RSYS) is set to compete in the inaugural Women’s International Championship hosted by the New York Yacht Club (NYYC), taking place from September 12 to 19, 2026. This prestigious regatta will feature 20 elite teams, each racing identical IC37 yachts provided by NYYC.
Karyn Gojnich, RSYS Vice Commodore and three-time Olympian, will lead the RSYS campaign. She emphasised the significance of this event for women’s sailing at RSYS, stating, “The NYYC Women’s International Championship is an extraordinary opportunity for the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron to accelerate our already strong women’s sailing program.”
Gojnich highlighted the ongoing training of over 20 women since April, which has included a mix of Olympic hopefuls and emerging talents. “Every member has shown tremendous enthusiasm and commitment to learning,” she remarked.
The following crew has been announced for the 2026 NYYC Women’s International Championship:

– Annie Wilmot – Tactician
– Mina Ferguson – Co-helm
– Emily Keg – Main trimmer
– Annabel Connery – Jib Trimmer
– India Gilbert – Spinnaker Trimmer
– Clare Crosswaite – Pit
– Susan Hardy – Mast
– Vicki Kornman – Bow
The crew is supported by project manager and reserve sailor Susan Metcalf, along with shore manager Amanda Hicks. Standby sailors include Alexandra Ford, Danielle Gerace, Michelle McGrath, and Angela Morrison.
Gojnich noted, “Selecting the crew has been one of the toughest decisions of the campaign. The standard across the squad has been exceptional.” She expressed pride in the team’s achievements and the cultural camaraderie developed through their training.
