RFD ResOFix PLB
The compact new RFD ResQFix PLB features 406MHz satellite technology combined with the speed and accuracy of GPS to deliver a complete safety beacon.

Its size suits day sailors and even kayakers as the unit fits easily into pockets, glove boxes or safety grab bags, and can be attached to clothing for quick access.

At the press of a button, the ResQFix begins transmitting a personalized identifier distress signal on the 406MHz frequency via the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system to the nearest rescue authorities. The signal is also backed up by the simultaneous transmission of the 121.5MHz search and rescue homing frequency.

An added benefit of the ResQFix PLB is the inbuilt 12 channel parallel GPS receiver. While the rescue signal is being transmitted on the 406MHz frequency, the GPS acquires the Latitude and Longitude of the current location and begins transmitting this critical information to authorities for accurate detection to within 100 metres.

The slimline design with lanyard and removable plastic holder makes the ResQFix easily at home secured to a lifejacket, immersion suit or cockpit dash. Class 2 Lithium (non-hazmat) batteries provide a minimum transmit time of 24 hours with operational life exceeding 40 hours at -20°C and it will withstand water submersion to 10 metres. The PLB can be stored in temperatures between -40° to 70°C and has a long lasting battery with an 11 year storage life. The ResQFix has a limited warranty of five years.

India Ocean Cruising Guide
This newly revised edition contains additional information on Malaysia, Thailand, Seychelles and the Chagos archipelago. The introduction has been expanded and throughout there are new plans and photographs. Indian Ocean Cruising Guide is now in full colour from the experienced and well respected Rod Heikell. The general sections are followed by a country-by-country round up in which key ports are described in detail with the aid of harbour plans and photographs.

This guide is an ideal companion to Rod Heikell and Andy O'Grady's Ocean Passages and Landfalls which discusses routes across the Indian Ocean. A4. 260pp. Hard Back. Full colour.
