Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Association open day

Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Open Day is set for November 8, featuring a variety of fun and free activities for all ages. Attendees can try sailing by crewing on different boats, paddle various watercraft, or participate in radio-controlled yachting under the guidance of experienced club members.

The event will also host an Amazing Race for families, where teams can complete challenges for a chance to win a year’s club membership and other prizes.

Paul Rowell, the club’s commodore, will be overseeing a free sausage sizzle, and there will be cold drinks, coffee, and tea available for purchase. Participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies beyond these offerings.

This Open Day presents a wonderful opportunity to experience sailing and learn more about the Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Association, a welcoming club with access to the lake for dinghy and catamaran sailing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, and radio-controlled yachting.

Set against a picturesque backdrop of mountains and bushland, the club offers ample space for walks, bird watching, picnics, and barbecues. Attendees are advised to bring swimwear, towels, spray jackets, and life jackets if available, although some will be provided on the day.

Gates open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 8. For more information, visit the club’s website at https://www.lswsa.org.au/.
