Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45DS – Cruise in comfort

Launches: Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45DS

Launching at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May this year, the SO45DS is based on a lengthened and modified version of the popular Sun Odyssey 45 hull, outfitted with an all-new interior design.

The comfortable cruiser is available in two cabins with twin heads or three cabins with two heads. Styling by Philippe Briand is contemporary, with leather-wrapped handrails and stainless-steel details. Large deck saloon windows and long hull ports provide light and an airy feel. The L-shaped galley has a large fridge/freezer; plenty of storage and work surfaces. The navigation station is designed to house after market equipment and integrate computers with onboard electronics.

Reflecting the heightened level of equipment in production yachts, the factory has introduced an overall refinement to this popular class. The deck saloon design gives excellent lighting and the raised coachroof's slick look is set off with wrap-around windows and large port holes. Teak is used throughout the saloon to give a warm feel. The spacious cockpit table seats six and also houses storage and indirect lighting.

The twin spreader rig is designed for ease of handling with a furling genoa and a mainsail that also furls, in-mast. The twin helm steering lends itself to performance sailing but is also good for stern access for swimming. Options are aplenty with the Jeanneau philosophy of only paying for what you need. This completes a very user friendly package that is already proving popular with new boat orders exceeding 120 in the first three months.
