The International 420 Class Association has revealed the calendar for the 2026–2027 European Circuit, which will consist of ten regattas throughout Europe. This follows the successful launch of the series in the previous season. Sailors will count their four best results towards overall rankings.
The circuit includes events in Greece, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Portugal, Slovenia, France, Hungary, Lithuania, and Germany, aiming to enhance international racing opportunities and promote cross-border participation.
Kicking off with Athens International Sailing Week from 19–27 November 2026, the schedule also features the Imperia Winter Regatta in Italy (5–8 December) and the Palamós Christmas Race in Spain (18–22 December). The programme will continue in February 2027 with events in Portugal and Croatia, followed by the Izola Spring Cup in Slovenia and Kereked Ifi Kupa in Hungary.
CIMA in France, with dates to be confirmed, will also be part of the calendar. The Circuit will conclude in Northern Europe with the North European Championship in Lithuania (10–13 June) and Kiel Week in Germany (19–27 June 2027).
The format allows sailors to choose their events, promoting flexibility while maintaining a competitive season-long ranking system. The structure is designed to create more opportunities for international competition within the 420 sailing community.
José Massapina, President of the International 420 Class Association, has expressed excitement over the expanded calendar, stating that the objective is to enhance competition and connectivity among sailors.
