ILCA Under 21 World Championship – Day 4

Viana do Castelo, Portugal — The 2024 ILCA Under 21 World Championship in Viana do Castelo, running from July 1st to 8th, has completed its 4th day of successful racing. Strong sailing conditions today marked the beginning of the final series.

The day began on time at 09:15, with the D Flags up for the yellow ILCA 7 and ILCA 6 fleets. Today had the strongest winds seen yet at this regatta at 330º, beginning at 14 knots and building up to 21 knots by the second race. The challenging conditions really put the sailors’ skills on display as they battled for the top spot.

In the ILCA6 fleet, Evie is currently 3rd and Frances Beebe has moved up to 9th. In the ILCA7, Jack Eickmeyer has got redress for his BFD in race 6th which puts him up to 12th going into the final day. Isaac Schotte is holding on to 4th. Good luck to all the Aussies for the last races.
