Finns on Day 1

A small fleet of Finns is taking part in Kieler Woche, many fresh from last week’s Europeans in Gdynia. While many had a turn at the front of the fleet, at the end of Day 1, Nicholas Heiner leads with a 1,2,1. Nils Theuninck picked up a 2,4,2 to lie in second while third is Facundo Olezza with a trio of thirds. The second race was won by Max Salminen.

OK Dinghies

Mads Bendix, from Denmark, has taken the early lead in Kieler Woche with a 1,1,2 scoreline after the opening day on Thursday. Three time world champion, Andre Budzien, from Germany, won the final race of the day to sit in second while double European champion, Bo Petersen, from Denmark is third.

A highly competitive fleet of 38 OK Dinghies is taking part is a scaled back Kieler Woche, and after a cold and very wet change over day on Wednesday, Thursday was dry, warm and with plenty of wind. While very shifty, the north-westerly was generally 10-12 knots giving some great racing through the fleet.
