Welcome to the third edition of our newsletter 2023, brining you updates and information about Etchells regattas and events happening all around the world in the third quarter of the year and into 2024.

The full calendar of events is available here. Please feel free to add your own regional events if they are not already listed, and don’t hesitate to reach out to the office if you need any help or assistance.

We have also collected classified adds for boats, sails and equipment for sale around the world, and you will fine the relevant links at the end of this newsletter.

Please do remember to post your photos and videos to our Drop Box Folder. This will help us to see what is happened across the fleets and we will be featuring selected content from this folder in our newsletter, on our website, and across our various social media accounts.

Chairman’s Message

Etchells Sailors,

As we head into fall here in North America, our racing season is just getting started again (see more on that below). During our hiatus, we’ve enjoyed hearing about the events in the UK and Australia.

Speaking of Australia, we have some great news. Mark Rowed of Innovation Composites has finished building the new Mould 12 and is about to finish laying up the prototype boat from that mould. I hear there are already boats on order. We are looking forward to seeing the first M12 boats on the water.

As you already know, Australia will host both the 2024 and 2025 Etchells World Championships. Registration for the 2024 Etchells World Championship in Fremantle is open with a 100% allocation percentage. Join the fleet in Fremantle!

Looking toward the rest of the year, our Annual General Meeting will be held, via Zoom, on December 7 at 1400 PST. More information to come in the formal notice that will be sent to all owner members.

See you on the water,

Jim Cunningham
ICEA IGC Chair
