Boaters snap up moorings/prime Gippsland property

The global financial crisis might be hitting some of us hard in the hip pocket, but it still appears there are plenty of boaters out there with the money to cough up for prime waterfront property.

Dveloper Riviera Properties says its Kings Cove residential, golf course and marina development in Metung in Victoria on the Gippsland Lakes is doing well.

More than half the moorings at Jetty Berths at Beacheshave have sold since its release early this year.

“With 22 of the 40 berths now sold, signs are telling that this project has come just in the nick of time,” MD Tim Weight said.

“We are extremely pleased with the strong response to these newly available berths at Metung. We are thrilled sales at Jetty Berths at Beaches have been embraced by boaties from far and wide. It certainly demonstrates the need for increased moorings in the region and we are pleased to be providing these through our Kings Cove project.

“The sales success of these first of the moorings at the development encourages our current work in bringing forward the release of the Kings Cove Marina with its approvals for up to 350 berths.”

Jetty Berths at Beaches is the first stage of Kings Cove's waterfront precinct that will include a resort facility, proposed retail, conference and dining facilities, dry boat storage and boat ramps, as well as the Kings Cove Marina.

The 40 floating jetty berths at Beaches will be sheltered behind a rock breakwater, already constructed, offering a safe haven in Lake King with essential facilities including security, car parking, power and water.

Beaches, a luxurious residential project, includes nine waterfront homesites complete with individual floating berths.
