The 2018 City of Perth Festival of Sail returns to the CBD with a busy program of activities taking place from Saturday, 27th January to Friday, 2nd February 2018.
The 16th Annual Warren Jones International Youth Regatta is open to the world’s best youth sailors under the age of 25 years and offers young sailors a pathway to reach their international sailing goals and personal youth development.
Teams from the Netherlands, New Zealand and Australia will compete for the Warren Jones title. Racing on the Swan River in front of the CBD will take place every day from 1230-1900 with a grand final on Friday, 2nd February from 1500. Spectators are encouraged to attend this free event based out of Elizabeth Quay and listen to live race commentary on 106.5FM or you can live stream via www.swanriversailing.com/warrenjonesregatta
The 2018 City of Perth Festival of Sail includes an exciting range of activities including free sailing for the public on the Australia Day long weekend;
Saturday, 27th & Sunday, 28th January from 1000 to 1700, FREE “Discover Sailing” & “Tackers”for children and adults from Elizabeth Quay.
On the morning of Tuesday, 30th January – a leadership driven event “Women On Water” for up to 80 CBD based businesswomen, hosted by high performing, including a number of female, sailing athletes.
The evening of Wednesday, 31st January will see teams of sponsors, stakeholders and key Perth businesses battle it out in the “Corporate Cup”, hosted by high level sailing athletes.
From 08:00 on Thursday, 1st February volunteers, staff, stakeholders and competitors from the entire event will take part in a ‘Beach Clean Up’ in conjuction with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, Keep Australia Beautiful and ‘Friends of Elizabeth Quay’.
Finally, on Friday, 2nd February, guests get to enjoy the annual major fundraising event for the Warren Jones Regatta – the Warren Jones Gala Luncheon, which, this year, has a leadership theme. The luncheon is hosted at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, before heading out on the water to watch the finals of the Warren Jones International Youth Regatta and foiling water sports on Perth Waters.
