Australian Sailing has announced the team members selected to represent Australia at the 2026 Youth Sailing World Championships, scheduled to take place in Vilamoura, Portugal, from 11 to 19 December 2026. The selected sailors were officially welcomed during a recent briefing attended by Australian Sailing Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Page OAM, coaches, support staff, and fellow team members, marking the beginning of their preparations for the event.
During the briefing, Page congratulated the sailors on their achievement, stating, “Selection to represent Australia at the Youth Sailing World Championships is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication and commitment these sailors have shown throughout their development in our sport.” He also emphasised that the championships offer a unique opportunity for young sailors to challenge themselves, learn from expert coaches, and create lasting memories.

Following the welcome, the sailors will engage in virtual sessions leading up to the championships, covering essential information on travel, logistics, team expectations, and event preparation. They will also continue their on-water training at their home clubs under the guidance of their respective coaches, highlighting the vital role of clubs in nurturing youth sailors.
The team is set to depart for Portugal in early December.
