America’s Cup Partnership announces new CEO

Marzio Perrelli has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the America’s Cup Partnership (ACP), effective from 7th April 2026. This move aims to enhance the event’s governance and establish a long-term vision for its future. Grant Dalton, the CEO of Emirates Team New Zealand, will continue to serve as the Chairman of ACP.

Perrelli brings a wealth of experience, with a career that spans finance, media strategy, and sports rights management. He previously held senior leadership roles at Goldman Sachs and HSBC in the UK, USA, and Italy. In 2018, he transitioned into the media and sports sector as the Executive Vice President of Sky Italy, overseeing the entire SKY Sports division.

Upon his appointment, Perrelli expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The America’s Cup is the oldest and most prestigious competition in international sport. Our responsibility today, on behalf of all stakeholders, is to preserve its deep heritage while ensuring greater continuity, stability and long-term growth. The America’s Cup Partnership represents an evolution in how the event is managed, providing a more consistent framework for teams, partners and host venues, while fully respecting the sporting tradition that defines the Cup. By strengthening governance and long-term planning, we aim to create the conditions for sustained investment, continued innovation at the pinnacle of the sport and broader global engagement. I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to working with all stakeholders to support the future of the America’s Cup’s development.”

Grant Dalton welcomed Perrelli’s appointment, highlighting the unique timing due to large participation anticipated for the 2027 competition and the introduction of women on board for the first time. Dalton noted the ACP’s potential for providing continuity and innovative initiatives that will benefit the growth of the America’s Cup.

Perrelli will lead the ACP in preparation for the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta set for 21-24 May 2026 in Sardinia.
