During Friday’s practice sessions, Ryan Reynolds claimed bragging rights in Valencia, winning a high-speed 6th Sailor Race against fellow Bonds Flying Roos co-owner Hugh Jackman as the pair took their Deadpool & Wolverine rivalry to the fastest race on water.
Wearing custom Wolverine and Deadpool helmets designed by artist Painton, Hugh stepped onboard the BONDS Flying Roos’ Australian F50 while Ryan joined NorthStar Canada’s boat for the head-to-head showdown ahead of this weekend’s Spain Sail Grand Prix in Valencia.
Joining the crews as 6th sailors, Hugh and Ryan experienced the speed and intensity of SailGP firsthand, with both taking the wheel to drive the flying F50 catamarans during the race. The neck-and-neck race came down to a penalty.
