Australian Sailing and Southern Pacific Boats team up to back Australia’s sailors

Australian Sailing is pleased to announce a six-year global partnership with Southern Pacific Boats, designating the Australasian manufacturer as the official supplier of Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) for Australian Sailing and the Australian Sailing Team (AST) through to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.

Under this agreement, Southern Pacific will provide PerformR and SeekR RIBs to the AST coaching fleet, which will support athletes preparing for both the Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.

A key advantage of this partnership is the exclusive club pricing available for Australian Sailing Affiliated Clubs, allowing them to acquire Southern Pacific RIBs at competitive rates for race management, coaching, safety, and on-water support. This initiative aims to empower Affiliated Clubs to invest in quality RIBs, enhancing their ability to support sailors, coaches, and events on the water. Clubs can choose from three RIB models—Vortex, SeekR, and PerformR—each tailored to different club requirements.

For further details on accessing this exclusive pricing, clubs are advised to contact Simon at sales@southernpacific.co.nz, who will provide initial information and connect them with their local territory manager. All RIBs are built to order, so early inquiries are recommended. Further specifications and features can be explored at www.southernpacific.co.nz.

This announcement complements a recent partnership between Australian Sailing and Mercury Marine, granting Affiliated Clubs access to exclusive discounts on outboard motor purchases through participating dealers.

The partnership highlights the essential role RIBs play at all levels of sailing, from clubs delivering coaching and safety operations to high-performance coaches supporting athletes on a global stage.

AST Technical Director, Michael Blackburn OLY, expressed that Australian Sailing is excited to welcome Southern Pacific Boats as a long-term partner. He stated, “We’re delighted to partner with Southern Pacific Boats through to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. Their RIBs provide a reliable, high-performance platform for our coaches to take on all conditions while they support Australia’s leading Olympic-class sailors in training and competition.

“We are also grateful that Southern Pacific is providing an important benefit to our Australian Sailing Affiliated Clubs through access to high-quality RIBs at exclusive prices.”

Southern Pacific Boats brings decades of expertise in designing and building RIBs tailored for challenging marine conditions. Their boats are utilised by sailing clubs, coaches, and sailors across the entire sailing community. Built on naval architecture principles, SPB’s boats prioritise stability, durability, and performance, ensuring reliable operation whether supporting a training fleet or conducting coastal patrol duties.

Australian Sailing extends gratitude to Southern Pacific Boats and looks forward to a successful partnership that benefits grassroots sailing clubs through to high-performance levels.
