The Australian team Ben Hinks and Fallon Katz get their first Gold Fleet race win and moved up to 189th. But it was a tough day for the other team, Sienna Brown and Ellis Merrett, who have slipped to 20th.
On the third day of the Junior World Championships in Gdynia, the 470 sailors faced a long and challenging day. The racing schedule was impacted by unpredictable weather, with unstable winds in the morning followed by a complete drop in wind, necessitating a return to shore before racing could resume.
The standout team of the day was the 2025 Junior World Champions, Roy Levy and Ariel Gal, who secured finishes of 5th, 3rd, and 2nd in their races, propelling them into the overall lead.
Lomane Valade and Julien Bunel began the day strongly, winning the first race in the Gold Fleet. However, subsequent finishes of 10th and 17th brought them down to second place overall.
In third place overall, Lisa Vucetti and Vittorio Bonifacio continue to lead in the U21 category.
The competition remains tight, with Sviatoslav Madonich and Yelyzaveta Vasylenko from Ukraine currently in second place in the U21 standings, followed closely by Israel’s Tehila Sidis and Amitai Levkovitz in third.
