Entries are now open for the Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta, taking place on Monday, 26 January 2026. The City of Sails’ oldest sporting event returns with a revamped format, celebrating Auckland’s maritime heritage with a mix of spectacle, competition, and live entertainment.
A major highlight will be a spectacular Sail Past at midday, where vessels competing in the Regatta will parade from Westhaven to North Head before racing begins. The event promises a stunning showcase of sail and steam power for spectators along the shores.
Following the Sail Past, racing will commence with a new course format for keelboats, starting at Ōrākei and concluding at Westhaven, ensuring competitors are at the heart of Auckland’s waterfront action.
Celebrations will continue post-racing at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) with an after-party featuring live music from the Royal New Zealand Navy Band, providing crews with a chance to relax and reconnect.
Key changes for 2026:
- Midday Sail Past: Parade of vessels from Westhaven to North Head before racing begins.
