The Junior World Championship has officially begun! Last night’s Opening Ceremony welcomed 210 athletes across 105 teams with cannon blasts, food, and good vibes to launch one of the biggest youth sailing events of the year!
⛵ Who’s Racing?
- 53 49er teams
- 29 FX teams
- 23 FX Open teams (new this year!)
Teams have travelled from over 24 countries, with the largest fleets from Germany (19 teams) and the Netherlands (12 teams) — plus strong contenders from GBR, Denmark, and Italy.
🏆 Who to Watch
- Defending champs Schultheis/Bertín (49er) & Schio/Giunchiglia (FX) are not returning.
- Schwachhofer/Stoltze (FX) are aiming to upgrade last year’s 🥈 to 🥇.
- In the 49er, 2024 bronze medallists Heindl/Jacobs (GER) want gold this time!
📅 Race Schedule
- 3 races/day for all fleets
- Final races on 3rd of August
- Champions crowned that evening! 🥇
