Stay cool and dry with Cape Fear Sportswear

Australian and U.S.waters provide some of the best places for boating in the world though, as all boaters know, we do deserve a variety of attire for every season and type of weather conditions.

Enter the quality apparel offerings from American east coast-based Cape Fear Sportswear. Purchased in 2018 by experienced yachtsman Chris Brady and based in Manhasset, New York, he is its driving force since also being a previous customer.

Chris Brady knows his boating, introduced to sailing at age seven where he grew up near Western Long Island Sound sailing on the family boat plus skippering a Bluejay with friends and racing it in junior sailing regatttas.

After college Chris moved and bought a Coronado 15 and also sailed a San Juan 21. He crewed and chartered larger sailboats for over a decade. With the purchase of a Colgate 26, still appreciated for its large open cockpit, lead keel and stablility, Chris and his brother would participate in races, which they continue to do today with family and friends as crew.

One particular favourite is the Storm Trysail Club's Block Island Race, which a Notice of Race for 2021 was recently issued and reported on in mysailing.com.au website: NOR issued for Storm Trysail Club's Block Island Race Week 2021.

As we all know, nothing quite beats seasonal racing and, for many sailors like Brady, some distance racing. While mostly beautiful sailing races, he notes one rough ride in the 1980s when hitting the tail end of a tropical storm. So Chris is well aware it is not all smooth sailing and good sailing gear is high on the necessity list.

Brady had appreciated the Cape Fear Sportswear brand for its quality and affordability for value after first seeing it at a major boat show. Seeking to replace existing foul weather gear, he recalled the company and visited the website for purchases. Instead he contacted the company's owner, negotiated a buyout and, as they say, the rest is history.

Chris has found boaters love the line plus its support for clean waters.

Product lines suit most water sports plus also skiing fanatics. Features include: men's and women's durable jackets, shells and vests to keep boaters warm and dry and multi-use apparel. The Intrepid series are warm and lightweight, perfect for whatever the climate or or on-water conditions.

The Ocean 3-in-1 jacket is a definite 'classic' and with ample-sized zippered pockets. Another bestseller is the Squall Rain Suit seen here in the image, the coastal foul weather suit every boater will appreciate along with its quality/price value.

MegaTech Performance shirts are available for any member of the family. Comfortable, functional and easy care, the fabric and construction have the attributes you would expect from quality apparel.
