Save one third of the weight. The UltraLite liferaft is the latest release from UK company Ocean Safety. Their range of ISO 9650 rafts now includes a specialist racing liferaft that meets all AYF requirements, for sizes up to 10 persons.
The UltraLite uses the latest composite technology for weight saving and a low profile. With its carbon container and carbon fibre wrapped aluminium cylinder, the UltraLite is for the racing sailor looking to save weight or for the naval architect, who is designing a vessel to a very specific target weight for increased performance. As a result, the liferaft is also considerably easier and faster to lift and deploy when needed.
A number of race campaigns worldwide have upgraded to this new raft, saving significant weight in the stern. This is particularly apparent on larger boats, with 8 or 10 person crews, or carrying 2 or more rafts.
All Ocean Safety Products are now available in Australia through selected stockists. The Distributor, Safety at Sea now stocks a full range of products including Ocean ISO and UltralLite liferafts, Jonbuoy Danbuoys, and Kru PFDs.
Managing Director Jonathan Gravit says Safety at Sea specialises in tailoring marine safety packages for individual boats – whether they are involved in local or extended cruising, club racing or ocean racing.
All products and product advice are available through the Safety at Sea website, via tollfree telephone or through selected stockists in Australia. Orders can be delivered in Australia within 24 hours.
The Ultralite liferaft will be featured at the 2010 Sydney International Boat Show
