The new Jeanneau 409 tested

Caroline Strainig previews one of the latest arrival in Australia, Jeanneau’s award-winning Sun Odyssey 409 .

One of the things I enjoy most about my job is checking out the new boats, particularly those that are a little bit different from what has come before in a positive way. The new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409 certainly fits the bill in that respect, and Australian buyers seem to agree because nine sold almost before the first hit our shores. Even so, when I saw the blurb I took it with a big pinch of salt. Every distributor makes their boat sound like the best thing since sliced bread and the delete key on my computer gets plenty of work cutting the superlatives down.
