Sunsail announce new preferred partners

Sunsail announced further expansion of its worldwide cruising destinations to include Vancouver Island, British Columbia with the addition of a new Sunsail Preferred Partner, Island Cruising.  This destination will offer Bareboat and Skippered Yacht Charters beginning May 2012 with itineraries throughout nature’s top cruising grounds in both the Canada and United States.

New Sunsail Preferred Partner – Island Cruising
Island Cruising is Sunsail’s first Preferred Partner and the undisputed charter industry leader in the Vancouver Island cruising region.  Cheryl Powell, Chief Operating Officer of Sunsail, noted, “Sunsail Preferred Partners are the premier providers of yacht charter services in their respective cruising grounds. Those selected for the program must bring years of industry experience and adhere to rigid specifications set out by Sunsail for customer service and yacht maintenance. Island Cruising met all of our criteria and their leading reputation has been solidified by over 30 years of excellence in customer service. We are pleased that Island Cruising has elected to be our first Sunsail Preferred Partner.”

Reflecting on the newly establish partnership, Larry Meyer of Island Cruising commented, "We are very excited to become a member of the Sunsail family through The Sunsail Preferred Partner program. It was a natural fit with Sunsail given their stellar reputation as the premier yacht charter company. We are ecstatic to offer the waters of the Pacific Northwest Gulf Islands, San Juan Islands and the world renowned Desolation Sound to Sunsail’s global customer base.  We are equally happy to provide access for our local sailors to Sunsail’s more than 30 destinations around the world.”

Pacific Northwest - Sailing Paradise

The Pacific Northwest is rated as one of the world’s top sailing destinations, and for good reason! This region offers something for everyone; charterers can enjoy active pursuits such as biking, kayaking, and hiking, while also tasting superb farm fresh cuisine and locally produced wines. From Island Cruising’s base in Sidney on Vancouver Island, over 2,000 islands are accessible throughout both Canada and U.S. waters, specifically The Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast, Desolation Sound and San Juan Islands. Sailors can expect to cruise alongside pods of whales and dolphins, as well as spot all types of wildlife from bald eagles to grizzly bears.

There are waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, leafy forests and beaches. For cosmopolitan sophistication, culinary flair and a hip artsy scene, Vancouver is the place to be. It is also home to Vancouver International Airport, which is served by over 60 airlines connecting travellers to more than 95 destinations in Canada, the U.S. and around the world. From here, a ferry transfer to Vancouver Island offers a pleasant introduction to this beautiful cruising ground. The Island Cruising fleet available for Sunsail charters will initially consist of monohulls between 31- to 47-feet from Beneteau, Bavaria, Dufour, and Hanse.
