Shockwave takes second place in Europe
Congratulations to the owners and crews of the Reichel/Pugh designed yachts competing in the 2012 31st Copa Del Rey Audi Mapfre Regatta.
George Sakellaris’ R/P designed/engineered and McConaghy Boats built 72’ Mini Maxi Shockwave, originally launched in 2009, took 2nd place in the highly contested IRC0 Mini Maxi division of the Regatta. The class featured two brand new 2012 mini maxi designs.
A few months earlier Shockwave won the New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta and followed that up result and overall win in the 635 mile Newport – Bermuda Race Offshore Classic.
In 2010 Shockwave was the Overall Winner in a 248 boat fleet of the 242nm Mediterranean Classic the Giraglia Rolex Race.
