The second KIWI 40FC produced in New Zealand arrived in Zeebrugge (Belgium) on 6 May.
The boat is already in the water and the first sailing tests are being carried out this week. The 90º test - a Class 40 Box Rule requirement – has been successfully performed together with the weighing procedures.
Roaring Forties 2 is the name Michel Kleinjast has given to the newly launched KIWI 40FC. The hull is still white, but it will not look like that for long: just before the Normandy Channel Race the sponsors’ graphic will decorate Roaring Forties 2’s sides.
The second KIWI 40FC to reach Europe will be transferred to Caen (Normandy, France) at the beginning of next week, just in time for Michel Kleinjans and Marc Lepesqueux to be at the start line of the Normandy Channel Race on 22 May. More updates soon.
