Raymarine has announced the launch of its revolutionary e7 multifunction display, providing advanced power, expanded networking, and wireless connectivity to boaters looking for an intuitive way to access information and control onboard systems.
As the world’s first 7” MFD to provide networking with up to six displays plus accessories, the e7 is compatible with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. With the e7, boaters have control of thermal cameras and are able to stream live video direct to their iPad (1 and 2) or iPhone (4 and above) in real time, making navigation charts, thermal video, radar and sonar information more accessible and portable.
Thanks to the Bluetooth connectivity, the user has the ability to control the e7 via the optional remote control unit, which can be mounted on the boat’s steering wheel or used as an independent handheld device. The RCU-3 remote controller is also said to eliminate the need to expose mp3 devices to the elements, controlling audio playback remotely.
Other features include a new user interface “Lighthouse”, three processors - dual core main processor and a third dedicated graphics processor, 48 channel internal GPS, super bright transflective LCD display backlit with LEDs, special Sport Optic coating to combat ‘blackout’ effect, HybridTouch technology, sturdy keypad control, and much more.
The Raymarine e7 (no chart) retails for $1,895, while the e7 with Navionics ready-to-navigate chart retails for $1,995. The RCU-3 Remote Control is priced at $163.90.
