Quantum Sails Australasia introduces new sail loft and sales office in Brisbane

Quantum Sails Australasia Pty Ltd. is pleased to announce that they will be opening a new sail loft and sales office in Brisbane on the 1st July 2012. Situated in Tingalpa, strategically positioned between Manly Boat Harbour and the Brisbane CBD this loft will provides sales, service and support to the East Coast of Australia with a wealth of sailmaking experience. Quantum has recently signed Ben Kelly to manage this loft.

Quantum Australasia MD Carl Crafoord commented, “We have been in discussions with Ben to join the Quantum Sail Design Group for a while now and with his expertise we can cover the complete range of dinghies, monohull’s and mulitihull’s”.

For the past 7 years Ben Kelly has owned and operated Sailtech Sailmakers where he has designed and made a variety of sails. Ben has sailed a broad spectrum of boats with a long list of achievements, reaching the podium at both state and national levels through his dinghy, skiff and match racing years.  Ben has competed in world titles in both dinghies and off the beach catamarans and has become highly experienced in multihull sailing with no less than seven nationals titles, state titles and numerous distance race records under his belt. Ben has also enjoyed many IRC Yacht Races inshore and offshore.
Ben chose to affiliate with Quantum due to the growing strength of the brand within Australia and worldwide giving him access to up to date sail membrane technology and design information.
Combining Ben extensive sailing experiences and wide knowledge base coupled with Quantum’s resources ensures you the best possible experience when dealing with Quantum Sails on a sales and service front. In addition the loft will also have a dedicated full time service facility managed by Brendon Mann. This facility can handle all service requirements and local finishing of custom sails.

Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand Brendon or “Don” as he has became known also has a long list of achievements in the dinghy, Multihull and yacht disciplines. Brendon has achieved no less than five National titles in multihull divisions and has podium places in regatta, state and nation levels in Dingy such as Lasers, Moths and sports boats.

He has enjoyed offshore racing competing in four Brisbane to Gladstone races with podium placing in all races. His overseas travels have given Don experience in coaching and crew management helping give him the skills required to service and advise his growing customer base.
