New Osborn-Charlton 50 contemporary deck saloon

Osborn and Charlton founded OC Yachts after many years research to design a family of yachts specifically for those wishing to enjoy extended blue water cruising on a true deck saloon. The outcome is the Osborn Charlton 50 contemporary deck saloon, designed by John King (original hull lines); Andy Dovell (new deck and interior arrangement) and built by Kanga Birtles of Jarkan Yachts.

The Osborn Charlton family includes a 40’ and 50’ deck saloon with a 60’ model to follow.

OC Yachts are being built by highly-skilled craftsmen under the guidance of Kanga Birtles - Jarkan have been building yachts since 1976. Building in excess of 300 yachts, Jarkan have long been established as one of Australia's leading fibreglass boat builders, producing cruising and racing yachts for both the Australian and Export markets.

This family of OC Yachts has been purposely designed to be an easily driven, fast and seaworthy modern cruising yacht, under power or sail, for both worldwide cruising and a day sail with family and friends. The OC50DS performance cruiser has a spacious cockpit and a delightful saloon.

With generous displacement and lead ballast, the OC50DS has been designed to look after the crew no matter the weather! Osborn Charlton yachts have built-in genuine blue water structural ability and strength. The OC50DS performance cruiser embraces key design elements of safety, style and function with a superbly spacious cockpit and opulent saloon, the result is a combination of sail-ability and generous spaces to enjoy with family and friends.

OC Yachts are using the very latest instrumentation technologies from Raymarine and integrating with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software application and HD digital entertainment Video/Audio system. Inside at the Navigation table are two dedicated 17” touch screen colour display panels. Here you can control and monitor each & every event.

The SCADA touch screen display replaces the myriad of proprietary mismatched and uneven switches and panels. All is displayed and controlled on the touch screen, from controlling your engine; bow thrusters to steering or something as simple as the cabin temperature. Every critical component of your vessel is brought to a programmable logic control (PLC). Integration, simplify and improve your vessels electrical systems.

The yacht will be available for viewing at the Sydney International Boat Show 29th July - 2nd August 2010.
