Hydrovane International Marine Inc has announced the release of their next generation rudder.
Over the past twelve months, engineers at Hydrovane have spent many hours testing the Hydrovane rudder in the Towing Test Tank facility of the University of Southampton’s Engineering Department.
Hydrovane is now able to better direct shaft hole to be in sync with pressure points over rudder length. The change is subtle – a refinement – but it is said to increase stability while maintaining light air responsiveness.
This advancement is said to be specifically targeted to bigger and faster boats and engineers have relished the opportunity to measure and quantify loads on each segment of the rudder during testing.
