Dead whale found floating off Ballina
Kim McKee of Multihull Solutions sent this report and photograph:
"Mike and I left Southport on the good ship Sandstone midnight last night and came across this floating dead whale a few miles off Ballina around midday today.
"Awesome site, saw it from miles off – looked like an upturned hull of some sort.
"Hold your nose....
"Once we got to it I was about to call Coast Guard but then a fleet of boats were coming out from Ballina – Coast Guard included.
Jeeez you wouldn’t want to hit it at night...
