The 108 berth, state-of-the-art marina at Bluewater, Trinity Park will enjoy 100 per cent occupancy; capping off the year’s trend of higher than usual demand for long term moorings by visiting boat owners wanting to prolong their tropical north Queensland experience.
Bluewater marina’s manager, Rick Herschell said typically, in the far north, boat owners drop anchor in the summer months and then leave their mooring for northern waters between July and October.
“In recent years this routine has translated to a 50 and 60 per cent occupancy in the middle part of the year, however 2011 has proved the exception. Demand is at an all time high with fewer boat owners leaving their mooring, but choosing to stay and enjoy our local way of life. People love the security that Bluewater’s marina offers and its little things like the Friday afternoon barbecues and sunset drinks that make for happy boat owners.”
Rick also believes that this year’s success is a culmination of years of hard work and the development of a master planned marina facility that was designed by boat owners for boat owners.
“While many developers are inclined to skimp on the end product in order to maximise profits, it was heart whelming for me as a former boat owner and property manager to see the ground work being done to ensure the marina would stand the test of time,” he said.
Bluewater Marina was opened in 2007. It is Cairns’ only cyclone-rated, fully secured and managed, freehold marina. It comprises 108 mono and multi-hulled berths in a choice of 10, 12, 15 and 18 metre lengths.
Bluewater Marina is set back from the coast line to offer an unprecedented level of protection against tropical storms. This safety and security feature ranks highly for boat owners and was successfully put to the test during this year’s Cyclone Yasi.
Bluewater Marina gives boat owners the opportunity to rent or purchase a berth using their newly introduced 99 year lease from $129,000. Two phase 240 volt power is included with 12 m and 15 m berths and three phase electricity is available for 18m berths at an additional cost. The marina management office is onsite and features 24 hour security cameras.
In addition to the marina berths, Bluewater has just seven of its coveted waterfront marina allotments remaining that start in price from just $399,000. This is Cairns last absolute waterfront development and a special opportunity for investors keen to know what waking up and living the dream in Tropical North Queensland is all about.
