A Swan with the claws of a falcon

Advanced Technology

On a recent visit to Palma, AY editor, Barry Henson, got a tour of a Nautor Swan 60, Emma.  For a cruising boat, Emma is making a big hit on the race circuit and this article explains why.

From the dock Emma looks like a luxurious heavy displacement cruising boat; the type of thing you might see on Lifestyles of the rich and famous.  But under the covers of this cruiser beats the heart of a racing boat who’s technology would put many a competitor to shame.  Emma is the nautical equivalent of a Rolls Royce body with a Ferrari chassis and engine.

Emma’s pro-skipper, Sven Hadler, former Admiral’s Cup sailor, explains a few of the features that give this Swan the claws of a Falcon.
