New yachts are either on the drawing board or in full production around the world and this month's issue includes a long list of what is available.

From monohulls to multihulls, from trailer sailers to superyachts, from bargains to luxury - all sectors of the sailing world appear to be experiencing a purple patch at present. Is it because people are looking at new ways to isolate? Are people advancing their long held dreams to get a yacht and get out there?

Who knows and, quite frankly, who cares. If the result is a plethora of gorgeous new yachts coming to market, as well as the growth in the secondhand market that this inevitably leads to, then bring it on I say.

As a prime example of the kind of yacht on offer we test the latest Nautor Swan 48 this month.

There is more of course. Check out the wild Gaia's Dream as it takes its new owners with a new lease on life up the coast of Australia.

For the more technical minded looking for a project to keep them occupied then we have a cracker as one sailor explains how he built his own chartplotter. All the detail is there for you to follow.

Plus much more to read as we head into the warmer weather. See you out there
