In a major report, this month's issue of Cruising Helmsman takes an in-depth look at those cruisers reporting on their adventures all around the world.

The advent of the internet, along with global satellite reach and then the accessibility of social media, has seen an enormous rise in cruisers telling stories of all the wonderful places they visit. What was previously shared by a few friends and family is now seen by millions anywhere with a wifi connection.

Sounds wonderful. But is it worth it? Can you really monetise what was once a leisurely lifestyle? The report asks the question of the top You Tubers and finds out the true figures. It makes interesting reading.

On the destination trail we visit what is possibly the most unique yacht club in the world plus two Malaysian marinas that one cruiser thinks are perfect for those passing through or needing work.

While the boat test this month is a revisit of the popular Nautitech 40 catamaran, CH also jumped at the opportunity to test sail a little-known Outbound 46. Built in the old cruising design style this bluewater monohull was a delight to test.

Finally we take a more detailed look at catamaran design and try to figure out some generic calculations to compare different cats with each other. These calculations may come in handy when shopping for a multihull.
