Seawind 1260 calls the Whitsundays home

Fresh from the factory in Vietnam is a brand new Seawind 1260 that will be coming to Australia and calling the Whitsundays home, joining an award-winning bareboat charter operator in Airlie Beach.

Cumberland Charter Yachts has been successful in securing a new investor who decided to turn his dream in to a reality buying a Seawind 1260 and joining 28 other bareboats in the fleet based at Abell Point Marina.

Arriving in Australia in July, the owner plans to sail the Seawind 1260 up the east coast of Australia to the Whitsundays and make the most of the cruising area before handing it over to Cumberland Charter Yachts to get it ready for charter by August.

Cumberland Charter Yachts General Manager Sharon McNally said it was a real coup to have the 1260 join their fleet. “The Seawind 1260 has been named 2019 best cruising catamaran under 50 feet by Cruising World judges,” she said.

“Up against Lagoon, Fontaine Pajot and Bali she shone against her competitors namely for the unobstructed views from the twin helm stations and the trifold hinged saloon door that lifts and is secured to the roof of the bimini lending itself true to the Australian indoor/outdoor lifestyle.”

The 1260 will be joining four Seawind siblings in the Cumberland Charter Yachts fleet, proving that they are a popular bareboat to charter favoured by many families and occasional friends.

A Seawind 1260 will be on display at this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (23-26 May).

The boat is open for bookings now on the Cumberland Charter Yachts website and available for charter from August this year.

Cumberland Charter Yachts is a multi-award-winning company operating for 30 years from Abell Point Marina in the Whitsundays, offering bareboat holidays on sailing yachts, sailing catamarans and power catamarans across a fleet of 28 vessels.
