21 Nov 2008
The 2009 Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle Show will run from January 30 to February 1, with gourmet food, wine, fashion and more than $100 million of boats on the water.
Held at Melbourne’s stylish Docklands precinct, this year’s show will include sailing yachts from production boat builders Bavaria, Beneteau, Tartan, Hanse and Jeanneau, plus traileraboats and inflatables.
In addition to the myriad of restaurants, casual eateries and bars for which Docklands is renowned, marquees along the promenade will be offering wine tastings and gourmet cooking lessons, while fashion parades and live music will provide plenty of entertainment.
Children and adults alike will be kept entertained with free interactive activities such as “come try” sailing and canoeing, boat rides and various stage activities, along with the opportunity to inspect the unique, round-the-world-record-breaking, 100-percent-renewable biofuel Earthrace vessel.
Many components of the 2009 event will be free to the public. Access to the open space exhibits Ð which will stretch the length of the promenade from NewQuay to Waterfront City Ð and the shell scheme will be free of charge, while access to the boats on the marina will be ticketed.
