Charlie's Dream takes on the S-H
13 Nov 2008
Charlie’s Dream, recently launched mid-2008, is a semi-custom ocean-going yacht built by Bluewater Cruising Yachts Pty Ltd of Newcastle.
Based on their Bluewater 450M design, Charlie's Dream has some notable change,s including a 1.7m draft, extended aft deck, 1.7sqm aft lazarette storage, hydraulic stern platform, fully enclosed cockpit clears and Tasmanian blackwood and oak interior.
Other features include a 6.5 kw genset, bowthruster, airconditioning and six-berth accommodation that includes a spacious owner's aft cabin.
Sail handling benefits from electric winches and boom and twin headsail furling with a self-tacking staysail.
Tankage is a generous 1100L water and 560L fuel.
While Charlie’s Dream is mainly built for comfort, she is also a good performer in varied conditions and this year's 2008 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race will be a good test for not only “Charlie” but her virgin Hobart crew.
