Catalina aground on Boodjidup Beach, WA.

While returning to Port Geographe from Hamelin Bay, the boat suffered rudder failure. Despite attempts by Sea Rescue to tow the boat to a safe haven, she was washed ashore on Boodjidup Beach. With access to the beach restricted to a narrow, rock-laden 4-wheel-drive track, the hull was eventually refloated, towed through the surf and safely returned to her home port.
